‘Wanted: A real couple’ for Valentine’s Day

‘Pem Yuwalaka Ona Kara Thibe’ (Wanted: A real couple), an attempt by Udayasiri Wickramaratne to transform the romance of the 1970s film into a unique 21st century theatrical experience, will be staged on February 14 at 3.30 and 6.45 pm at air conditioned New Town Hall Theatre, Green Path Colombo 7.
The theme of this play is how the world of love when portrayed on screen collides with love in the real world.
Amiththa Weerasinghe, Hemantha Iriyagama, Wasantha Vitachchi, Thushari Gunarathna, Sudharshana Bandara, Theruni Ashangsa, Pradeep Aragama, Ishara Wickremasinghe. Chamari Nisansala, Rohitha Jayakody, Kusal Maduranga, Thilan Warnajith Wijesinghe, Niroshi Prasa and Seneviratne Rodrigo comprise the cast while Lalith Wickremaratne is the music director.
Costume design is provided by Sweenitha Subasinghe while stage lighting is by Manjula Weerasinghe. Wasantha Vittachchi will handle the make-up. The performance is organized by Sadjana Sahurda Sansadaya.
