Thowfeek replaces Hafeez in Parliament
View(s):Former Trincomalee parliamentarian M. S. Thowfeek has been appointed to parliament following the vacancy created by the resignation of United national Party (UNP) national list MP A.R.A. Hafeez, Elections Additional Commissioner M.M.Mohamed said.
His appointment was gazetted on Friday.
Dr Hafeez, brother of Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) leader Minister Rauff Hakeem, cited personal reasons for his resignation from the parliament.
