Defending champions MAS Slimline Boxing Club from Pannala and MAS Southern from Koggala two clusters of from MAS Holdings retained the Clifford Cup when they came out on top at the 88th Clifford Cup ABA Men’s and Women’s Boxing Meet which concluded at the MAS Unichela boxing ring in Panadura.

The two teams won the Clifford Cup title for the third successive year, saw MAS Slimline bagging four gold’s with MAS Southern wining seven gold medals.

In the men’s category Army who took the second place bagged two gold’s and three silver meals with third placed Air Force winning two gold’s two sliver medals.

Apart from emerging champions the two teams as in last year had the honour of producing the best boxers with N.G.S. Jayaweera taking the men’s and K.H.E.G. de Silva the women’s title while A.R.B.E. Tillekeratne of Air Force and A.A.K. Nilimini of MAS Thurulie taking the best losers awards.
