Girls’ High School emerge All Island Champions

The Girls’ High School U14 badminton team led by Dinuki Kulatunga emerged the All Island Division ‘A’ championship which concluded at Galle recently.

The team coached by Nalinda Sampath under the guidance of Teacher-in Charge Thanuja Gunasinghe overcame Kottawa Dharmapala Vidyalaya (3-1) in the semi final before getting the better of Dharmasoka MV Ambalangoda with an easy 3-0 win in the final.

In fact the same team went a step further having three years ago in 2011 ending up as runner up in the Division ‘C’ category of the same tournament.
