Head to Negombo lagoon for some thrills
View(s):Jetwing Lagoon in partnership with Jet Water Sports recently launched Sri Lanka’s first lagoon based water sports centre at Jetwing Lagoon Negombo.
Flanked by the expansive lagoon, the new centre offers activities, such as skiing, mono and wake boarding, kayaking, banana boat rides and donut rides, jet skiing and sailing; for both water sport enthusiasts and beginners alike.
Those looking for relaxation over thrills can also try a boat excursion to Negombo harbour, Hamilton canal or the Muthurajawela wetland.
“Having this fantastic lagoon here, we always knew we needed some water activities,” said Jetwing Hotels chairman Hiran Cooray.
“At the moment, the boating industry is concentrated in Bentota,” said Thilanga Sumathipala, Managing Director of Jet Water Sports. “We want to open Negombo up as another option for both tourists and locals.”
