Fusing art and technique to tell India’s story

Indian photo-artist Jayati Saha amazes any viewer with her frames of nuanced light and shadow, seamlessly fusing her art with technical finesse.

Based out of Kolkata, India, Jayati’s journeys have taken her to the India not known or seen by many.

The Indian Cultural Centre will present a photographic exhibition ‘Celebrating life with Colours’ by Jayati Saha in association with the University of Visual & Performing Arts, Colombo, the Photographic Society of Sri Lanka (PSSL) and University of Kelaniya from November 15- 26 at different venues.

The exhibition will be launched at the J.D.A Perera Gallery, No 46, Horton Place, Colombo 7 on November 15 at 5 p.m. On November 17 at 10 a.m., there will be a presentation – “Painting a story with images” at the Visual Arts auditorium.

The exhibition will move to the Harold Peiris Gallery of the Lionel Wendt on November 20 and be held concurrently with the 60th PSSL Annual International Competition and exhibition of Photography 2015.

The exhibition times will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

On November 21 at 4 p.m. the presentation on “Painting a story with images” will be held at the PSSL Auditorium, Lionel Wendt Memorial Art Centre.

From November 23- 25, the exhibition will be at the University of Kelaniya with the same presentation on November 24 at 11 a.m. at the Art Gallery of the University of Kelaniya.

Jayati’s works have been critically acclaimed. She has won many awards including the Prix De La Photographie Paris, 2015,Travel Photographer Asia, 2015 and Humanity Photography Awards, 2015.
