Woodstock Colombo 2015, which was originally scheduled for September but postponed due to bad weather, will come alive on Sunday, November 15 at the CR&FC from 1 p.m. onwards.

In the spirit of the original music festival, “the show will go on come rain or shine,” say the organisers, assuring that there will be cover in the event of rain.

Inspired by the legacy of the world famous Woodstock Music Festival held in Bethel, New York in 1969, Woodstock Colombo aims to capture the nostalgia of 1969, uniting people in a message of peace, love, openness and cultural expression.

Selected music from the original line up, which featured artists such as Joe Cocker, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, The Grateful Dead, The Who, Janis Joplin, Santana, Ravi Shankar and many more, will be performed by over 30 of Sri Lanka’s most talented musicians.

Fans can expect to see Rattlesnake, Flame with Naushad and Primal, Mintaka, Chris Dhason (CJ), Shafi, Kamal Perera, Pradeep Ratnayaka, Rajitha (MISTY), Thilak Dias, Terry Bertus, Upula Madusanka, Lelum Ratnayake, Vibes (Hikka Drummers), Primal Liyanage, Naushad, Anne J, Slipping Chairs with Dylan, Rukshan Perera and more on stage.

Presented by Etisalat Lanka in partnership with JC Entertainments, all proceeds from the show will go to the Sunera Foundation and the Chundikuli Girls’ School, Jaffna.

Tickets are now on sale at the Etisalat Flagship Store in Colombo 3 and WTC, CR&FC and JC Entertainments.
