The Cultural Triangle Hoteliers Association (CTHA) commemorated World Tourism day with an environment related project where local communities and tourism stakeholders joined hands with the Hoteliers of the region to clean up 33 kilometres of roadway leading to sites of tourist interest.

Garbage and Plastic that had been disposed by travellers indiscriminately were cleared, separated and disposed following responsible sustainable practices.

“Irresponsible littering happens mostly in scenic spots where travelers stop to partake of refreshments which is a problem on the increase.” said Ghazzali Mohideen, President of the CTHA.

He further stated that the association had plans for an awareness campaign and arriving at a solution to provide facilities in these scenic locations for garbage disposal and clearance before it is too late.

The Cultural Triangle Hoteliers Association which has a membership of all the leading hotels in the region is actively involved in Training and development for its membership, Community projects and other aspects in relation to the betterment of the hospitality industry in the region.
