More international dancers at this year’s Dancesport
View(s):It is that time of year where local dance enthusiasts get to be a part of an amazing international dance experience when Footwork Events, headed by Dharshan Wijesooriya, presents the country’s biggest annual dancing competition.
Dancesport Sri Lanka – the International Ballroom and Latin American Dance Championship organised for the 20th consecutive year, will yet again dazzle audiences with exhilarating dance performances at Colombo Hilton on November 1.
This year’s Dancesport competition, adjudged by a panel of international judges, will see more international participation with couples from countries such as Australia, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Malaysia, Thailand and Taiwan battling it out with those from the local dance scene, under Beginners, Novices and Amateur categories. The competition will also have a junior category.
The highlight of this year’s Dancesport will be a five dance performance by the European Professional Show Dance Champions- Sven Ninnemann and Nina Uszkureit.
Prior to the competition, Sven and Nina will hold a dance workshop for the competitors in order to familiarise them with different aspects of competition and show dancing while there will be a separate workshop conducted for social dancers.
