Well known artist Rubert Soysa who is exhibiting his latest works at the Paradise Road Galleries says this exhibition titled ‘Moments’ is inspired by human life, the milestones, relationships, aspirations we have and how we react to them.

A follower of Willem de Kooning, Frank Auerbach, and of course Pablo Picasso, he says oils are his preferred medium for they give him the ability to manoeuvre the flow when he draws and he prefers the wholesome colours it creates.

Born in Sri Lanka, Soysa studied art at the Government College of Fine Arts in 1973.

He held his first solo show at the Vansbro Public Library in Sweden and thereafter continued to exhibit his work in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Syria, Cuba, Bulgaria, India, South Korea, and throughout Europe.

Rubert Soysa’s exhibition continues till October 29 at the Paradise Road Galleries, 2, Alfred House Road, Colombo 3, from 10 a.m. until midnight.
