Eranga Weerasinghe wins a Gold medal and a Silver Medal in 2nd International Health Qigong (Chee Gong) Competition in Bozhou, China. Eranga won the gold medal in Liu Zi Jue and the silver in Wu Qin Xi. Mahesh Pathirana won gold medals in Wu Qin Xi and Ba Duan Jin. The competition was organised by the Chinese Health Qigong Association, the general administration of Sports of Bozhou, the general administration of Anhui province.

Qigong (Chee gong) is the cultivation of internal energy with the practice of aligning the movement and breath along with the mind. This goes to the 4000 years old history in China and Bozhou is the birth place of Qigong and the traditional Chinese medicine. Typically qigong practice with rhythmic breathing, coordinated with slow stylized repetition of fluid movements in a calm state. There are four types of training methods in Qigong, such as, dynamic training, static training, meditative training and the use of external agents.

Eranga is the leader of the delegation and the secretary general of the Sri Lanka Health Qigong Association (SLHQA). He holds the position of committee member of the International Health Qigong Federation (IHQF) in the marketing commission. Eranga represented Sri Lanka in two distinct sports for many years such as a former National Basketball Player (1999-2004) and captain of the Wushu team (2000-2006) while he was obtaining his BSc. Engineering degree in University of Moratuwa. Eranga is an employee of MAS Intimates as a Plant Manager, and he holds MBA, specialized in TQM in University of Leicester and he is a professional lean management practitioner.

SLHQA is the organization of Sri Lanka have been involving with this qigong activities in internationally since 2009, by patriating various international qigong conferences such as, Shanghai 2009, Beijing 2011, Hanzhou 2012 and Sichuan in 2014. Members of SLHQA had attended the 1st international Qigong competition and achieved the bronze medal in 2013 a Silver medal in 2014. SLHQA is facilitating for learning groups such as private organizations, public organizations to share the true knowledge of Health qigong.
