Quarter-finalists to battle in September

The preliminary round matches of the Red Bull Campus T20 Cricket 2015 which was played for the last three days came to end yesterday at the Thurstan College grounds in Bauddaloka Mawatha.

In the last two matches that were played saw BMS record an easy 6-wicket win over IIT and ANC securing a three win over NSBM to qualify to the quarter finals.

They along with ACBT, IIHE, KDU, SLIIT, ICBT who are the defending champion and RIC the runner up of last years tournament were the other teams to qualify to the quarter finals. ICBT and RIC received byes which saw them get automatic qualification.

The eight teams will now battle in the quarter-final scheduled to be played on September 5 and 6 to book a berth to the semi finals after which the team that wins the final will represent Sri Lanka at the forthcoming Red Bull Campus Cricket World Finals due to be played in October in India.

This will be the fourth Red Bull Campus Cricket World Finals which is fought out for a slot by aspiring young cricketers from 200 universities across eight cricket playing nations namely Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and UAE.
