Chinese firms still call the shots?

On Friday, some public parking bays in Kollupitiya near Hotel Renuka were occupied by vehicles from the CHNT Electric company as a promotion got underway. The event was to coincide with the arrival of a Chinese government and trade delegation including the founder and chairman of Shanghai-based CHNT Electric. There is nothing wrong in a public event, as long as the required permission is obtained but what annoyed many motorists was CHNT vehicles hogging most of the limited public parking spaces (as seen in the picture) and depriving other motorists of a parking slot in one of Colombo’s busiest towns.
