WNPS lecture on majestic Sri Lankan elephant
View(s):The Wildlife & Nature Protection Society of Sri Lanka’s monthly lecture for March 2015 is titled ‘A slide show and talk- Majesty of the Sri Lankan Elephant ’ and will be delivered by Vajira Wijegunawardane on Thursday, March 19 at 6.15 p.m.
Vajira Wijegunawardane served on the Presidential Task Force on Wildlife Conservation in 2001 and is currently a Director at Environmental Foundation Ltd (EFL).
Vajira has been a frequent visitor to the National Parks from a very young age with his family and pursued wildlife photography with a passion upon his return from the UK after his higher studies in 1997. He has photographed over 80 tuskers in the wild and published a bestselling coffee table book, Sri Lankan Elephant – A Celebration of Majesty in 2010 which was reprinted in 2013 by popular demand.
The lecture will be at the Department of Meteorology Auditorium, 383, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 7 (opposite BMICH). Entrance is free.
