The OKI International Schools Network held its annual Sports Meet for the 2014/2015 season at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo recently. A large number of events were held during the day in which Houses representing OKI network schools in Wattala and its branches in Kandana, Kiribathgoda, Diyagama, Kotikawatte, Morawatta and Negombo competed.

Finalists of the Under-11 girls 80m event

Numerous events including track and field events took place with the energetic participation of over 1500 students under different age groups and four Houses namely John, Mary, Peter and Lucia.

Among them Mary House emerged champions of the Wattala main school, Kotikawatte and Biyagama branches. Lucia House won the championship of Kiribathgoda Branch. Peter House won the championship of Kandana Branch while John House won the Negombo branch championship.

Mary House of the Wattala main school won the championship of the Inter-House march past competition while Kandana became the champions of Inter-Branch March Past competition. These were new events to the annual sports meet event of the OKI Network Schools.

Gracing the occasion was OKI International Schools Network Chairperson Nirmali Saparamadu as chief guest while the guests-of-honour were OKI Directress Danum Abeysekara, Network Principal Mona Dharmawardhana, Chief Administration Officer Deepthi Kamalawarna, Academic and Management Coordinator Anthony Alwis, HR Manager Shantha Perera. Principals, Directors, Head Mistresses of all OKI branches, past pupils, tutorial staff, students and parents made the occasion a successful one. – NA
