The next two turf tracks will be built at St. John’s College Jaffna and Jaffna Central. In the East the two recipients are Hindu College, Trincomalee and Irinimalu Vidyalaya Batticaloa.

He said that each of these tracks will be done at a cost raging from Rs. 2-2.5 million. Besides they will also build ten more concrete wickets – 5 each in the two provinces.

“We were encouraged by the talent and the Interest shown by the youth in these areas and they have doing pretty well especially at the under 23 level. At present there are two SLC Provincial coaches each in the two provinces and in addition we are also hoping to appoint a curator who would be looking after the turf wickets in the two provinces.”
