MTD Walkers PLC wins three major awards in end 2014
View(s):MTD Walkers PLC recently received three prestigious awards, namely the Gold medal at the Sri Lanka Institute of Training and Development (SLITAD) People’s Development Awards, The Institute for Construction Training and Development (ICTAD) award for the construction of the Narammala-Giriulla-Dankotuwa road and the National Occupational Safety and Health Excellence Merit Award for 2014.
“Recognizing the outstanding achievements in the sphere of human resource development, the company achieved gold at the SLITAD people’s development awards. This achievement was no surprise due to the commitment and results attained by the whole management team throughout the year 2014 and the company was identified as a leader in people development,” the company said.
Civil engineering subsidiary of MTD Walkers PLC, CML-MTD Construction Ltd walked away with the ICTAD Construction Excellence award for the rehabilitation and upgrading of the 16 KM Narammala-Giriulla Road. This project was valued at Rs. 1.4 billion and was essential to the area as traffic congestion was a continuous issue that needed to be addressed.
