The World Fellowship of Buddhists (WFB) founded in Sri Lanka in 1950 by Prof. Gunapala Malasekera and other Buddhist leaders held their 27th annual conference in Shaanxi, China. Delegates from 47 countries participated. The Lankan delegates proposed the opening up of a World Buddhist Bank initiated by China which was accepted.
