‘Buzz With Danu’, the longstanding column on Daily Mirror Life will make the transition from print to visual media as Danu Innasithamby prepares to take on a whole new communication medium with his show. The first episode airs on Hi!TV this Friday.

Danu needs little introduction, being a regular on radio, TV and print for a while now. “Making the transition has been very important,” he says of moving away from television media into radio and print, and now online media. Although Buzz With Danu has received a fully digital makeover, it will still keep its print presence as well, he shares.

The very first episode this Friday (November 28) will feature star cricketer Kumar Sangakkara and Yehali his wife, so Danu is all set to start with a bang. Don’t expect to hear too much about cricket though! “It’s very warm and informal,” he says of the show’s format. So less shop talk and more about the guests’ lives and what makes them tick. For example, Sanga was grilled about his retirement plans-“I asked him whether he was planning to stay at home and grow a pot belly,” grins the host.

Danu knows that his regular readers will perhaps expect a rapid-fire round of questions but says this is not how the show will unfold. “It goes a little further than the column – I might try and find out more, such as what they’re like at home!” he says.

The first season of Buzz With Danu will feature 16 episodes, and will be uploaded onto the Hi!TV page (http://www.sundaytimes.lk/141123/) every Friday, “so you can catch it whenever you want!” says Danu.
