Meepe area, passing Homagama and Godagama in Colombo District, is not a popular tourist destination. ‘Kithul Kanda Mountain Resort’ is the only resort hotel to be found in Kithula kanda, the last lonely rocky mountain village close to Colombo city.  Kithul Kanda Resort derives its name from its location. Picturesquely dotted with kitul trees, this secluded resort has the advantage of having the hill entirely to itself.

Set amidst 16 acres of abandon rubber plantation along with kithul and naturally grown fruits, ‘Kithul Kanda Mountain Resort’, is the pioneering Eco friendly tourist attractions in the area, which blends with nature beautifully, and yet combines a touch of modernity in its architecture and design. The location was chosen by the proprietor of the property-Neil Kariyawasam due to its panoramic vantage point and views of the Colombo skyline. Perched on the summit of Kithul kanda, guests are treated to 360 degree bird’s eye view of the lush green environs and the sky line of the Colombo city.

Though the ‘Kithul Kanda Resort’ is conveniently located only about forty five minutes drive from Colombo, it has a real village atmosphere, where guests can enjoy the full benefit of a local village lifestyle. ‘Colombo City line from the west and the Avissawella mountain range from the East along with the area beneath the mountain create the best scenic view in the whole District’ said Chairman, Karyawasam.

Popularly identified as ‘Kandalama of Colombo’, Kithul Kanda Resort seamlessly blends with its surroundings so that guests feel as though they are part of the surroundings.  ‘However, Kithul Kanda Resort offers all the luxury facilities required of a resort to ensure that guests enjoy a pampered experience’ he added.
It has twenty well appointed luxury rooms including eight deluxe, eight super deluxe and four family rooms, while each room is tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished.

All rooms have modern amenities including cable TV, free wi-fi, IDD and tea/coffee making facilities. ‘All rooms have Burma teak furniture done by local craftsmen. With a rich sleek finish, our spacious rooms are a haven of peace and calm. The lobby area and the dining area, and the banquet hall are equipped with crafty furniture’ said Wijith Prasanna, the Finance Manage of the property, who looks after the property’s well being since its since its inception in late 2012.
