The film screening at 3.30 pm on every Saturday features ‘A Little Princess’ on October 18 and ‘The Secret Garden’ on October 25.

Directed by Alfonso Cuarón, ‘A Little Princess’ is story of a young girl who is relegated to servitude at a boarding school when her father goes missing and is presumed dead. When her father enlists to fight for the British in WWI, young Sara Crewe goes to New York to attend the same boarding school her late mother attended. She soon clashes with the severe headmistress, Miss Minchin, who attempts to stifle Sara’s creativity and sense of self-worth.

‘The Secret Garden’ a 1993 British fantasy drama film based on the novel of the same name by Frances Hodgson Burnett is directed by Agnieszka Holland.
A young British girl born and raised in India loses her neglectful parents in an earthquake. She is returned to England to live at her uncle’s estate. Her uncle is very distant due to the loss of his wife ten years before. Neglected once again, she begins exploring the estate and discovers a garden that has been locked and neglected. Aided by one of the servants’ brothers, she begins restoring the garden, and eventually discovers some other secrets of the manor.
