Dr. A.M.A. Azeez Oration on Islamic banking
View(s):The Dr. A.M.A. Azeez Oration will be held on Friday, October 10 at 4.30 p.m. at the Ghaffoor Hall, Zahira College, Colombo 10. A.I. Marikar, retired banker and consultant on Islamic finance will deliver the oration on the subject of Islamic Banking- Alternate Approach to Finance’.
Dr. Azeez was the first Muslim civil servant, one-time principal of Zahira College, Colombo, senator, founder of the Young Men’s Muslim Association (YMMA) and the Ceylon Muslim Scholarship Fund.
The meeting will be chaired by President of the Dr. A.M.A. Azeez Foundation S.M.H. Jameel and National President, YMMA, M.T. Thahasim.
Two books titled ‘A.M.A. Azeez- Early life and Tributes’ in Tamil and ‘One Distinguished Family of Moor Street, Jaffna’ in English will also be released on this occasion.
