As part of its centenary celebrations, the National Christian Council of Sri Lanka has organised a public awareness walk titled “Rainbows and Butterflies” on Saturday, September 20. The walk will commence at 3.30 p.m. at the Gunasinghapura grounds, Pettah, and proceed towards the Fort railway station, Lake House junction, and Sir Chittampalam A. Gardiner Mawatha, Kumaran Ratnam Road, and Union Place, to end at Philip Gunawardena grounds at Hyde Park Corner.

There will be children’s dance acts, Hewisi and western bands along with other performances.

This will be followed by a Unity Concert, featuring Edward Jayakody, Mariazelle Gunathilake, Rukshan Perera and Lucky Deva of Super Golden Chimes fame, C.C. ( Winner TNL Onstage 2007), SAGES (Tamil rap group) and more, who will sing focusing on inter-religious harmony. The concert will commence at 5 p.m. and end by 7.30 p.m. All are welcome.
