Police BC severely jolted by Maldives BC
View(s):Police Basketball Club were severely jolted by the visiting Maldives BC in their over 35 veterans basketball game before turning the tables to post a 37 to 36 points win their Masters Invitational Basketball fixture at the Sugathadasa Stadium yesterday. At half time the Maldivians held a 25 to 15 point lead. The tournament is conducted by Masters Basketball Sri Lanka.
The Maldivians put the first points on the board and at the first quarter held an 8-7 lead. They stretched this lead by 15 points to the Police’s seven and at half time led 23 to 15.
However, in the first quarter of the second half, Police got their act together and led 26 to 19.
Wilting under pressure the Maldivians cracked up and gave the Police room to score at will and win the game 37 to 26.
For the Police the best shooters were B. Kumudapperuma with 12 points and S. Sujeewa 8.
While the best shooters were Abdul Nafan and Abdul Manoon with 10 points each.
