3M ‘uniquely’ poised for SL growth : Country Head

3M, which is presently in a number of key industries, is “uniquely” poised to take advantage of this country’s growth, said Suren Rajanathan, the company’s Country Head for Sri Lanka. This observation was made in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of 3M kicking off operations locally.

Additionally, it was also noted; “Fundamentally, a diversified technology company, 3M employs its patented 46 technology platforms to develop innovation solutions to address diversified market needs across industry segments”.

3M also revealed that it had already aided a number of local industries in growth, including the following: “3M’s Safety and Graphics Business Group has been working with companies and government authorities to set standards and industry benchmarks to improve worker safety standards in the country. 3M works very closely with the Industrial Safety Division of the Department of Labour to promote workplace safety towards establishing a safety culture in Sri Lanka”.

Also emerging; “To enhance safety on the roads, 3M’s Raised Pavement Markers, Median Markers, Reflective Signages are being installed by road contractors, municipals and the Road Development Authority across the country”.

Further, also indicated; “Addressing core security issues for the country are 3M’s Passport Readers and 3M’s Reflective Films for license plates that are equipped with enhanced security features to prevent tampering”.

“Our more than 30 business partnerships allow us to reach every community across the island and we fully intend to harness the trust and experience we have gained in the past two decades to forge the next two decades and beyond”, commented Suresh Anandappa, the Head of Marketing at 3M Sri Lanka.

At the same time, it was also signalled that “3M Sri Lanka, a fully owned subsidiary of 3M USA began its operation in 1994 and has since established itself in diverse industries such as Healthcare, Electro and Communication, Infrastructure, Construction, Apparel, Woodworking, Automotive Aftermarkets, Personal Safety and Security and Retail”.
