The name of my school  is St. Bridget’s Convent.
Our school started in the year 1902 on February 15.
It was the 2nd house of the Good Shepherd Congregation in Sri Lanka. It was
established by Most Rev. Dr. T. A. Melizan O.M.I Archbishop of Colombo.

It was in a rented house ‘The Firs’ at Turret Road. This work was undertaken by Sr. Mary of St. Francis Borgia and Sr. Mary of Our Lady of Lourdes.
In the beginning there were twelve girls and two boys. The first school day was on February 17, 1902 and the first prize giving was
in December 1906.

The first Corpus Christi feast of my school was celebrated in 1923. There are four houses in my school namely Borgia, Coudert, Griaux and Melizan. At present there are about fourteen buildings in my school. I love my school and may God Bless my school.
