As dawn was breaking over the city of Colombo last morning, the second Thomian Triathlon, slipped into first gear, when old and present boys of different shapes sizes and ages dived into the pool of their sister schoolm Bishops College, by the waters edge.

From there the healthier of the crowd, ran and jogged their way to the rugby grounds at Havelock Park. Then came the cycling parade where the tiny tots of the lower school and those with extended waist lines and some hobbling with their white canes and sporting their dark glasses but minus their guide dogs thus living on borrowed time, joined to make the last lap the big club grounds where a mini carnival complete with musical shows, amusement activities trade and food stalls was organised to complete the days proceedings.
This was the second Thomian Triathlon to be held by the college OBA, the first was held 10 years ago.

The target of this triathlon is to raise Rs 250 million to construct the senior Quadrangular Building Project in three phases, with the first phase having already commenced.

Unlike the last triathlon, where only the main school participated, this year present as well as old boys from the branches of Colpetty, Bandarawela and Guruthalawa also joined in.

Dialog, MAS Holdings, Nestles, Bhathiya Group, Nations Trust Bank, Siddhalepa and CSN extended their generosity to make the event a success.
