Sri Lanka Ports Authority CC propelled by unbeaten tons from Mahela Udawatte and Yohan de Silva made a bold reply of 241 for no loss in reply Tamil Unions score of 423 at the end of the second day’s play in the Premier league cricket encounter at the P. Sara Stadium yesterday.

Mahela and Yohan made unbeaten knocks of 133 and 100 with Mahela in his knock cracking 15 boundaries and a six while Yohan hit seven boundaries and a six.

Earlier in the day a knock of 133 with 18 boundaries and a six by Jeewan Mendis supported by a knock of 72 from Pulina Tharanga helped Tamil Union amass 423. Jeewan was involved in two fruitful partnerships first of 125 runs for the sixth wicket with Denuwan Rajakaruna and the other of 122 runs for the seventh wicket with Pulina Tharanga.

Ragama CC too amassed a mammoth score of 417 on day two having resumed their innings on 295 for 5 against SSC in the match played at the SSC ground.

Ragama CC’s score came on the back of tons made by Ian Daniel who hit a 127 with 13 boundaries and three sixes and Udara Jayasundara who chipped in with a 112 inclusive of 15 boundaries who together was added 150 runs for the third wicket. SSC in their turn helped by half tons from Thilina Kandamby and Vishwa Wijeratne ended the day on 220 for 5.

Dilhara Lokuhettige’s quick fire 115 ball knock of 119 inclusive of 16 boundaries and three six saw Moors SC taking first lease of the wicket make a formidable score of 380 against Air Force SC in the match played at Braybrooke Place.

Later Moors SC bowlers Janaka Gunaratne and Malinda Pushpakumara who together shared eight wickets between them bowled out the Airmen for 229 to give them a first inning lead.

Bloomfield was sitting pretty against Panadura SC when play stopped on day two in the match played at Reid Avenue. Bloomfield resuming on their overnight score of 112 for 4 ended their innings making 280.

This was after the right arm spin and pace attack of Suraj Randiv and Imran Khan wrecked the Panadura SC batting to bundle them out for a low score of 109 on the opening day. Panadura SC batting the second time with a deficit of 171 runs was struggling on 138 for 5 needing a further 33 runs to avoid an innings defeat.

Army SC having dominated proceedings against Colts on day one continued their momentum on the second day too in the match played at the Colts ground.

Army resuming on their overnight score of 137 for 2 helped by a knock of 86 by Mohamed Feshal made a score of 361. This was in reply to the home teams’ score of 192.

CCC has already obtained a first inning lead over NCC in the played at the NCC ground. CCC in reply to NCC’s 242 resuming on their overnight score of 14 for no loss ended the second day’s proceedings on 307 for 9.
