Farming films, is ever more becoming popular in countries seeking cash crops. An inherent knowledge of Film and Cinema, comes to us Sri Lankans, naturally. To seek it as a lucrative venture, would need strategic planning and pursuit. Lets look at countries, who have achieved success in film farming,  and why they are
so successful. Hollywood, is needless to say,  is the leader in Film Production for the world  market.

India, claims they make more movies than anyone else. Hong Kong, China is also big players in Film farming. Even though, they have similarities in what they do, there are measurable differences in the outcome. Hollywood films, are sought after by the world population.  The others limit their wide audience appeal by catering to their own demographic.

How can Sri Lanka get in on the action!. The answer is strategic planning. Mr. Run Run Shaw, the greatest film producer to come from Asia, passed away in Hong Kong, at age 107. He was knighted by the Queen of England.  He made 50 films a year. He owns a film, village in Hong Kong. They crank out, Kung Fu, and Martial art films all day long. They are formula films. They are none the less lucrative. Can Sri Lanka, get in on the action, I think, yes. We will have to develop a new sets of skills and strategy to become a film farmer. Who knows, we can start an Empire, like Bollywood.
