Three from Western Province top A/L list
View(s):The Advanced Level exam results released on Friday showed that three of the top achievers were from the Western Province.
According to the results which were released Aditha Weerasiri Dias of Richmond College, Galle came first in Mathematics and Amaya Mahatanthila of Eheliyagoda Madya Maha Vidyalaya was first in the Bio science stream.
Methsarani Lokuge of Devi Balika Viyalaya, Colombo was ranked first in the Arts stream and Erandi Kanchana of Rathnavalee Balika Vidyalaya, Gampaha came first in the Commerce stream. Duneesha Tharangie Fernando of Musaeus College, Colombo came first in Optional Subjects under which she sat for Mathematics and ICT subjects.
More then 80,000 sat the exam under the new syllabus this year and over 12,000 students sat under the old syllabus.
