View(s):

The race for the first innings lead in the match batsmen Vidyartha and Kaluthara MV at the Police grounds was interestingly poised when rain shortly after lunch forced play to be abandoned.

Put into bat, Kalutara finished on 215 which was a decent enough total. They were on 192 for 5 at one stage, but the last few batsmen self-destructed. Pethum Nissanka top-scored with an aggressive 78 off 59 balls, he had seven fours and three sixes in his knock. Kasun Buddhika (42) and Dulan Weerasuriya (32 off 28 balls) kept up the momentum. Vidyartha’s leading batsman Madhawa Samarakoon shouldered the way once more in their reply. Isuru Weerasinghe and Roshan Nanayakkara continued the good work.
Kalutara Vidyalaya 215 in 58-4 overs (P. Nissanka 78, K Buddhika 42, D Weerasuriya 32,C. Nayanajith 2-41, C. Ratnayake 2-48,D. Navaratne 2-44, M. Samarakoon 2-14.)
Vidyartha 75-2 in 31 overs (M. Samarakoon 29, I. Weerasinghe 19 n.o., R. Nanayakkara 16 n.o)
