No play was possible on the second day in the two Under 19 inter-school cricket encounters at Zahira ground Maradana between Zahira and Bandaranayake MV Gampaha and St Joseph’s against St Sylvester’s at Darley Road due to bad weather.
The first day’s play too was hampered with both the matches being called off early due to bad light. In the match at Maradana saw Zahira taking first lease of the wicket making a modest score of 194 with Arshad Imamudeen making a atop score of 59. At the end of the day Bandaranayake MV in their turn struggled to make a score of 69 for 5. The match at Darley Road saw St Sylvester’s batting first helped by a knock of 54 by Hansamal Perera ending the day on 164 for 9 while two young Josephians Hashendra Perera and Shammi Seneviratne making their Under 19 debut ending with three wickets each.At Maradana
