‘Wolverine’, American and Australian superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Wolverine will be released at Amity Lite cinema, Maharagama from July 31. Reprising his role from previous films, Hugh Jackman plays the title character with James Mangold as the director. Based on the 1982 limited series Wolverine by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller, the screenplay is written by Christopher McQuarrie, Scott Frank, and Mark Bomback. The sixth installment in the X-Men film series and follows the events of X-Men: The Last Stand (2006).

Summoned to Japan by an old acquaintance, Wolverine becomes embroiled in a conflict that forces him to confront his own demons.
In modern day Japan, Wolverine is out of his depth in an unknown world as he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

McQuarrie was hired to write a screenplay for The Wolverine in August 2009. In October 2010, Darren Aronofsky was hired to direct the film. The project was delayed following Aronofsky’s departure and the 2011 T hoku earthquake and tsunami in March 2011. The Wolverine is scheduled to be released internationally from July 24 onwards.
