Lyceum International School Nugegoda emerged runners-up at the Western Province Schools Under-15 Football Tournament, which was won by the strong Maris Stella College team from Negombo.

The final was played at the Katunayake Maha Vidyalaya ground. Vishene de Silva led the young Lyceum football team through a magical journey in the tournament which saw many hidden talents being unearthed. The captain was well supported by others in the side, which comprised deputy skipper Avinash Perera, Janindu Korala, Sanjana Gunawardana, Shevanka Seneviratne, Himath Weraduwa, Poorna Lokuarachchi, Isal Saparamadu, Shahir Ahamad, Mihin Himsara, Manodya Premathilake, Hatim Shabbar Hussain, Binuk Thambavita, Siyath Weraduwa and Ravindu Weerakoon.

The team was coached by Sarath Jayasinghe, Nishantha Silva and Masith Adarsh with the teacher-in-charge Jayamini Perera, assisting favourably. The picture shows the team with officials posing for a picture with Ruchira Bandara, the Deputy Director of Sports of Lyceum International Schools.
