Three siblings, under the guidance of their karate-loving father, have won medals at the National Full Contact Karate Championship, conducted by the Sri Lanka Karate-Do Federation recently.

The trio, two sisters and a brother, won gold medals and a silver medal representing the International Shinkyo Kushinkai Karate Association. The young karatekas, Sanduni Gayesha, Sarani Gayanthi and Praveen Anjula, also have won many medals at previous tournaments including the National Karate Championships. All three attend Kamburagalla Maha Vidyalaya in Gampaha and are ably guided by their father, a well-experienced karate instructor, Sensei Leelaratne Hewawasam.
