‘Medagedara’ is a teleplay that gives a new interpretation to the popular saying that ‘behind every successful man there is a successful woman’. Telecast at 7 pm on every weekday on Swarnavahini, the teleplay conveys the message that the success or the failure of a woman will solely depend on the life partner she chooses.

Directed by Rohana Samaradivakara, ‘Medagedara’ is played by Ramya Wanigasekara, Geetha Kanthi Jayakody, Gamini Hettiarachchi, Chandika Nanayakkara, Muthu Tharanga, Kanchana Kodituwakku, Udayanthi Kulathunga, Niroshan Wijesinghe, Niluskhi Amanda Silva, Thirusri Yuwanika, Dilhani Perera, Kingsley Loos, Sampath Tennekoon, Menike Attanayake, Pubudu Gamage and Janith Wickremage.

The teledrama revolves around several young girls in the same family and the way they find their partners.  Dhananjaya and his parents come to Uththara’s house with a proposal for her. They accidentally see her sister Anuththara and Dhananjaya offers her a job in his company. Vimantha who works in the same company gets interested in Anuththara. Dhananjaya entrusts Vimantha to train Anuththara.

Dhananjaya’s brother Kalpa meets Sasandara while finding a location for a shoot. But he is not aware that she is the sister of Uththara or Anuththara. Sasandara is already involved with a young businessman called Terrence. They meet by coincidence but Terrence is actually not a wealthy businessman as he poses off. He is actually a driver of the Senaratnes, a well-to-do family.

Nimsara is a medical student who has big hopes about her future. She gets involved with an arts graduate Ranga who is boarded in the neighbourhood. But her elder sister Uththara tries to explain to her the consequences that may emerge in the future. Ranga blames Uththara for trying to brainwash her sister.

The 100 episode teleplay unravels the lives of these young men and women.  Janaka Mapitiya handles the camera and lighting, Chandana Priyankara the art direction, Reginald Udugama the make up, Waruna Kodikara the editing in the teleplay produced by Max Creative Media Production.
