The ancient Japanese martial arts are not often seen in their pure form in Sri Lanka and it was a group of keen observers who gathered at the Sasakawa Centre in Kollupitiya last month when theKyudoLanka dojo staged a demonstration of Kyudo (Japanese archery), Aikido and Iaido (swordsmanship).

Kyudo is widely regarded as one of the oldest forms of martial arts that helps with body-mind co-ordination and the development of inner spirituality among its practitioners.

KyudoLanka dojo is run by Sensei Keerthi and Lalani Wickremaratne. The demonstration was by Sensei Keerthi and their guru Sensei Tadashi Ono along with students of the dojo.
