Over the month of November Alliance Française de Colombo will screen a series of French films on a variety of themes on every Tuesday and Wednesday at 3 pm and 6.30 pm.

The series will start with Patrice Leconte’s comedy film ‘Tango’ which will be screened at 3 pm on November 6 and at 6.30 pm on November 7.

Paul’s wife, tired of being betrayed by her unfaithful husband, left him. Since then, instead of taking advantage of this new freedom, Paul mopes. He goes in search of his uncle, a hardened bachelor for advice.

‘Mesrine: L’Instinct de mort’ a detective film revolving around Mesrine, the legendary French gangster in the‘60s and ‘70s who came to be known as French Public enemy No.1 and man of a thousand faces will be screened on November 13 and 14.Mesrine made up his own epic, between romanticism and cruelty, flamboyance and tragedy.

‘Qui m’aime me suive’ directed by Benôit Cohen, a story of 35-year-old Marshal Maxime, a brilliant doctor, who often rows with his lawyer wife, his admiring friends and with his happy family will be screened on November 20 and 21.

A mellow existence continues to the point of losing in the folds of the pillow. Until the day he meets Chine, a singer who will cause the shock dreaded by his relatives. Max decides to chuck his career to put together a rock band, reviving his dream of youth.

‘Intouchable’ a film by Eric Toledano is about a rich quadriplegic, living in a mansion in Paris, who requires a live-in caretaker. A young offender turns up for an interview, but he is not really looking to get the job. However, to his surprise, he is hired. The two men then develop a close friendship. It will be screened at 6.30 pm on Novmebre 28.

All the films are subtitled in English and screened at the auditorium of AF Colombo, Alliance Française de Colombo, 11, Barnes Place, Colombo 7.
