Emerging into the scene with bright sounds that spark up the audience with versatility and hit songs is the seven piece live outfit SPARK.  The band Spark was a popular outfit few years back and suddenly went missing from the music scene. But is now back with a bang and ready to rock the scene.

The band Spark is led and managed by singer cum keyboardist ex Dream Team member Sanjeewa Uyanahewa.
He has been quite for some time and after played with few other bands like ‘Beat Box’ and Aquarius. Sanjeewa released his original music video – ‘Sonduru Mathakayan’ which was an istant hit on the music scene.

‘I think the time has come for me to revive my band Spark. I have done this with the intention of doing music to attract the international and the Sri Lankan Market from the requests of my fans’ Sanjeewa expalined.

He has stared the SPARK with a new line-up. The newlinup consists his sister Dhanu, who can play many instruments like flute, violin, guitar and harmonica, Lanka, who plays violin, guitar and does vocals too. Lishan, who handles bass and vocals is from the University of Visual and Performing Art, and more experienced drummer is Lumbini. Last member on Spark is young and famous actor popularly known as ‘Vishaka’, Nino Jayakodi on vocal who sings in many languages.

‘After coming down from Dubai, and when I looked to the music industry, I realised that there were very few bands, who really can cater to the audience according to their requirements. That was the point I thought of reviving my old band Spark’ he said.
Sanjeewa said they are ready to rock the scene at this festive season with their wide repertoire of music ranging from Country, Oldies, dance, 60’s 70’s, Rock n Roll, Rock and also the popular Sri Lankan hits. And the band plays a session of Bhangra, Arabic and Hindi hits, depending on the audience. Also they have experience and the ability to back any local artiste.
