A legacy about to unfold,
Fighting for one cup,
Twelve teams around the world.
Mahela, Sanga and Malinga,
Warriors of the cricket ground,
Carrom ball, Dilscoop and the Slinga,
‘Papare’ bands all around.
Teams try,
To outclass their foes,
Sixers fly,
Towards the boundary the ball goes.
The scoreboard fills,
In Hambantota, Colombo and the Kandy hills,
Victory is the thing,
Sri Lanka will bring.
