Orient Finance reports sharp rise in profits

Orient Finance PLC says it has recorded the highest ever profit after tax since its inception in 2003. “The company posted a profit after tax of Rs.136.5 million for the year ending March 31, 2012, as against the previous year’s profit after tax of Rs. 71 million,” according to a company statement.

The total assets of the company recorded a growth of 97% with the main contribution coming from leasing hire purchase and factoring portfolio. “Gaining confidence with the exceptional financial performance, Orient Finance continues its growth momentum in the leasing industry with new found vigour. The company is to embark on a re-branding initiative shortly in keeping with the proposed business strategy,” it said.
