‘Shanti’ distributes breakfast packets at Ja-ela hospital

‘Shanthi’, a women’s organization in Tudella, Ja-ela, which carries out social work in the area, distributed 300 packets of breakfast and cups of milk to patients and staff of the Ja-ela Hospital on Poson poya.

Based on the tele-drama of the same name which was aired on TV in the late 1990s, ‘Shanthi’ was founded by Grisilda Fernando in 1998. The organization’s current President is Mangalika Rajapakse, the Secretary Manoja Siriwardene and the Treasurer Celine Abrew. Major donations for the latest social work were by Mr. and Mrs. Donald Silva, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Wijesinghe, Mr. and Mrs. Lanka Irugalbandara and Loadstar (Pvt) Ltd.
