Olympic Games

Bata Poem for the Week
View(s):

Originated in Ancient Greece,
Aimed to promote world peace,
Brings the nations together,
As the people
enthusiastically gather.

So many events make it colourful,
Sports, music, literature are wonderful,
Wreaths of olive leaves received by winners,
Brought them the heroic honour.

Festival held in honour of God Zeus,
Encouraged by spectator’s cheers,
Behind every medal there is dedication,
Which brings fame to the nation.

The whole world eagerly awaits,
To see the Olympic flags sway,
Strengthens the mind with courage,
‘Not to win but to take part’ is its message.
