Rahula and Sujatha Matara district swimming champions

Rahula College and Sujatha Balika Vidyalaya carried away the overall boys and girls championship trophies at the inaugural Matara District Inter School swimming championships held at the Rahula College pool. St Servatius College and St Mary’s Convent were runners up.

210 competitors representing St Servatius College, Rahula College, Sariputhra MV, Matara MV, Sujatha BV, St Mary’s Convent, Polhena MV, Kamburugamuwa MV, Brilliant Stars International, Leeds International, and Sussex College participated in under 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 age groups.
The meet was organised by the St Servatius College Aquatic Sports Association and credit should go to the organising committee headed by Baslin Salih for the initiative taken to promote aquatic sports in Matara.
