Different dances

With some 90 enthusiastic dancers, Surekha Buell’s Danceworld School of Modern Jazz and Ballet presented a colourful evening of modern dance styles at the Lionel Wendt last weekend. Many of the dances were inspired by songs from the musicals that the young performers could relate to – Rio, The Lion King, Flashdance, Hairspray, Mulan etc and ‘Jazzing Across the Floor’ captured their exuberant infectious appeal in a variety of different dance forms.

Proceeds from the show were for the Lions Club of Havelock Town’s outreach projects for needy children.
