The creative devil at Phoenix Ogilvy has been unleashed yet again. Fittingly, the curtains went up on a devil dance depicting the unleashing of the creative demon at the sneak peak of The Otherside, the creative festival of leading advertising agency Phoenix Ogilvy to be held on August 28 and 29 at the Barefoot Gallery.

Guests had an opportunity to witness varied styles of presentation from Creative Directors to Production Assistants working at the agency.

The evening saw energetic dance performances, a display of impressive photographs, paintings and sculpture, a fashion show and also a live band performance all by the staff of Phoenix Ogilvy. W.P. Dharmasiri who works at the transport department of the company, catering to the theme of the evening showed us his exhibit depicting a devil that he had made from automobile parts.

“I love my work at the company, this is what I engage myself in when I get free time,” Dharmasiri said.

The annual festival has became a platform for employees to prove that their regular duties aside, their artistic and creative abilities are flourishing too.

In an innovative twist, young staff also took the ramp sporting creations made of office stationery, newspapers and tapes.

The function ended with the Head of Production at Phoenix and also lead singer of his band Black, Ranil Amirthiah performing at the event along with his ensemble.

The Otherside has been held at Phoenix Ogilvy since 2000. Said Senior Executive of Public Relations, Fahmee Oowise, said, “Today’s function is just a glimpse of what lies ahead at The Otherside. It will be 3 or 4 times more spectacular than what was represented today.”

If Tuesday’s preview was anything to go by, The Otherside will be a quantum leap.
