ETV announces the premier of the biggest sensation on television in the world; Glee. The Golden Globe Award- winning comedy-drama television series is a production of FOX Television Studios.
Being the most popular show on television and the most Tweeted-about show in the world, Glee continues to entertain an audience of over 20 million worldwide. Glee is a musical comedy-drama television series (dramedy) about a show choir called “New Directions” in the fictional school of William McKinley High School set in Lima, Ohio. Will Schuester, the Spanish teacher of McKinley High, takes over the glee club, hoping to restore it to its former glory. This light-hearted dramedy is like nothing else on TV; “This belongs to a different genre. It’s pure escapism,” says Ryan Murphy, Creator and Executive Producer of Glee.
Madonna had told Us Weekly, “The entire cast was amazing. They’re all so talented.” The cast includes stars such as Jane Lynch (The 40-Year-Old Virgin), Jayma Mays (Epic Movie) and Broadway stars such as Mathew Morrison (Hairspray) and Lea Michele (The King and I). Jane Lynch, Mathew Morrison and Lea Michele were nominated for the Golden Globes for Best Supporting Actress, Best Actor and Best Actress in a Musical Comedy or TV Series respectively. They also won Satellite awards in the same categories and many other awards in similar categories. This show also received 19 Emmy nominations for which the results are pending.
‘I loved the fantastic performances of ‘Vogue,’ ‘Express Yourself’ and all the messages about the boys being respectful to girls,” said Madonna, on the episode “The Power of Madonna’ (Season 1 Episode 15)
