‘Aspirations 2010 - International Education Exhibition’

LESON lecture series on Study and Career Opportunities in a range of disciplines, showcasing renowned personalities who have served Sri Lanka’

Aspirations Education, the premier career guidance and placement services centre for the fourth successive year, proudly presents, "Aspirations 2010 -International Education Exhibition", on July 3 and 4 at Ceylon Continental Hotel, Colombo and July 6 at Light House Hotel, Galle from 9am to 6pm, with the overarching objective of providing students with a diverse range of study opportunities in UK, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Singapore all under one roof.

It will be an excellent opportunity for students to meet representatives from universities to not only explore the various educational avenues that are available to them in a wide variety of industries, but also to inquire about and compare fees charged, facilities provided, and financial assistance available at each university or college in a variety of destinations. In essence, they will be able to get an in-depth knowledge about any field of study and how each study programme would cater to their needs and capabilities, all in the same location. Focused students will qualify to obtain spot offers from some universities if they can provide the necessary documents.

Aspiraiton's theme this year is Learn, Earn & Serve Our Nation- ‘LESON’ and it stands for LEARN - Learning guides young people to pursue responsible careers that will enhance the knowledge based economy and facilitate growth: a vital facet in the development of a country.

EARN - Earning an internationally recognized academic qualification helps you to keep pace with the competition in the workforce and undoubtedly pay off in higher earnings. SERVE - Serve Sri Lanka, choosing to return to our country where family ties remain, and eventually contribute to take the nation to the next dimension, using their knowledge and exposure gathered through studying at reputed foreign universities.

OUR NATION - Nation building exercise requires a large pool of high quality, well educated graduates for promising results to be reaped in the years to come. We believe such graduates will have an undisputable impact on our country.

This year's highlight in bringing ‘LESON’ (Learn, Earn & Serve Our Nation) into light is the series of lectures at AIEE 2010 with renowned personalities in Sri Lanka who are at the forefront playing active roles in the nation building exercise and have re-created the strategy in their respective fields.

In a post conflict era when there is bounden duty for everyone to deliver and perform, it is important to note leaders who find time to use their visibility to strengthen their institutions, reputations, create strong identities that help their institutions thrive and grow. At each session they will address different topics such as Law, Engineering, Education, Entrepreneurship, International Relations, Politics, Marketing, Business Hospitality and Tourism, Leadership.

These 'Gurus and Role Models, who have spelled out the formula of success in their respective fields and driving Sri Lanka to the next dimension, will educate and enrich the participants about opportunities, challenges, scope and potential available in diverse fields, thereby inspiring participants to make informed decisions on their career choice.

It is unique initiatives such as these that make Aspirations a social entrepreneurial organization. They do their best to come up with innovative solutions to society's most pressing social problems. Thus they have been accepted as a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact which encourages businesses world over to adhere to human rights and anti corruption standards while undertaking social responsibility ventures. They are the only Sri Lankan educational organization which is a part of this UN initiative.

Being a socially conscious organization, working towards social entrepreneurship, at present, the Aspirations Education Foundation awards 115 Apeksha scholarships to students from underprivileged income groups in 9 Districts of Sri Lanka. Please also note that this event will happen parallel to the Aspirations International Education Exhibition (AIEE) 2010

The overarching objective of AIEE would be to prepare the Sri Lankan youth for the rapidly globalizing future and a demanding employment environment across all industries, by exposing them to a wide range of study opportunities around the world and career opportunities back home in Sri Lanka. "AIEE 2010" will be uniquely innovative in its format and presentations.

AIEE 2010 will feature:
Renowned Universities and Institutes from Australia, UK, Malaysia, Singapore, India and New Zealand
Students and visitors to "AIEE 2010"will have the opportunity to explore the various educational avenues that are available in a wide variety of disciplines. Further, students could also get an in-depth knowledge about any field of study in which they are interested and may be even able to obtain spot offers if they possess the required qualifications.
