Growing demand for ACBT's Australian degrees

Sri Lanka's leader in international higher education gears up to begin classes for its intake of future graduates

The Australian College of Business and Technology, the pioneering college in international higher education in Sri Lanka, is fast gaining even more recognition in the country as student numbers build up. ACBT's popular degree programme offers students several possible streams of study within the business and IT fields, with degrees such as Bachelor of Business in Management, Bachelor of Business in Marketing, and Bachelor of Business in Marketing & Management, Bachelor of Computer Science, and Bachelor of Software Engineering. All of them are awarded by the Edith Cowan University in Australia and these degrees have proved to be in high demand in the Sri Lankan market.

With the very limited number of students gaining entry into government universities, colleges such as ACBT are now seeing vast numbers of students enrolling in order to obtain a much desired higher education. ACBT's Australian qualification is globally accepted and can be completed in Sri Lanka or students may transfer to one of several Australian universities and other international universities. It also offers students the added benefit of starting their higher education as soon as they complete their A/L examinations, without necessarily having to wait for their results. This is a major factor, ACBT being the number one choice for students wanting an international degree, as this fast-track option helps them enter the workforce faster.

Many students are joining the ACBT degree programme immediately following their University Foundation Level, popularly known as the UF/L; they have seen a record number of students joining them to follow this programme immediately after completing the O/Ls. Obtaining the UF/L and entering degree programmes faster has become a key success factor in today's world.

"It's a rapidly evolving world we live in today, and spending a long time in education is not considered the best way forward for young people, especially in the business and IT streams where the industry develops very fast. Our degree programme is one of the fastest ways of getting a globally recognised education in Sri Lanka and we endeavour to nurture well-rounded international graduates in record time," said Sudash Liyanage, Marketing Manager of ACBT. "Our graduates can complete their degree here or even transfer to one of many Australian universities to complete it. Furthermore, students can enrol pending A/L results which means the waiting period does not go to waste."

ACBT takes pride in their higher education programmes, which are engineered to transform young students through textual and experiential knowledge into well geared professionals with excellent potential in their chosen fields. ACBT degrees speak for themselves as the content and structure of the courses are founded on Edith Cowan University, and students are awarded full, globally recognized ECU degrees.

"Sri Lankan students' futures must no longer stop at O/L or even A/L," said Mr. Liyanage. "We are encouraging them to make the most of this international opportunity so that they may take full advantage of their potential here in Sri Lanka, Australia or anywhere else in the world."

ACBT degrees are also offered at 1/5 of the cost of doing it overseas, and payments can be made in monthly instalments, making it a much more viable solution to getting an international higher education for the average Sri Lankan student.

Enrolments for the July intake are now open. ACBT encourages students who have completed their A/Ls to contact their hotline (077 3000 900), email them on info@acbt.lk or visit www.acbt.lk for further details.
