Fonseka to face conspiracy charges

Retired General Sarath Fonseka is to be indicted in the Colombo High Court on charges of conspiracy.
The charges to be filed by the Attorney General's Department, the Sunday Times learns, relate to the discovery of weapons at the Bodhirajarama temple in Maligawatte on January 23, three days ahead of the presidential election.

The Police Special Task Force (STF) conducted a raid on this temple. Police said they discovered two T-56 assault rifles, 119 rounds of ammunition and smoke bombs among others.
